I’ve got the fish catching blues
I need a shot of my Booze
And some tubes of Ben-Gay
For my arms everyday

Those walleye bite so damn fast
My worms and minnows simply won’t last
And when my fishin days finally through
At night in my dreams there still biting too!

My woman she is first rate
No better gal could be first Mate
But at night when we hug and kiss
She says that I smell like a fish

My man is awesome it’s true
Fishing spots he has quite a few
But at night when we hit the bed rails
His skin makes me think of slimy fish scales

So there should be a moral to this poem
Peace and quiet with no cell phone
All your worries are left behind
They’ll soon be back so have a good time

So before you get the fish catching blued
And you have to depend on Ben-gay and Booze
More Fishing + Lovin – less work and no whining
And you’ll be in shape for your next years Fly in.

We just added a new favorite on our Fly in Fishing Channel on YouTube, and we’ve included it here for you to enjoy!

This “Canada Video” was sent to us by what could be the most creative family fishing trip group that we’ve ever had stay at one of our Outpost Cabins! They sure look like the whole family had a great time making this Rap Video of their fishing trip to Canada! Check it out:

Loganberry is where we’ll be
Flying here straight with Kashabowie Outposts

With our friend Fern this place is tight
You can get yourself here in half an hour flight

This lake is great and the cabin is kickin’
You can catch yourself some fish and you’re finger lickin’

This place is the best and we wish we could stay
eat sleep and fish, every single day.

So now lets kick it, to the first verse
Common now Jake, just like we rehearsed.

The weather is perfect, not to hot or cold
Put this place for sale, and two seconds it’d be sold

You can swim if you want, but it’s a little chilly
and when you start to shiver, you’ll look really silly

So we make a fire, so big it burns a tree
You can say goodbye to your eagles and your bees

Where my momma lets my beard, grow out long,
and she tries to write verses to her own song.

Where I don’t need to stay and clean my dish
Instead I get to go out and catch a fish

It’s Canada, that’s where we are
Just ask Fern, cause it’s not that far.

The water’s cold, I’m not gonna lie,
but deep inside is the big walleye

Sleeping on the bed is nice and comfy
you won’t fall off like humpty dumpty

No other places have showers this nice
Look no more, Fern’s got the best price.

Only a three mile walk to the can,
hope I don’t get jumped by that shadow man,

This cabin is bombin’ I don’t really mean to diss
But do really need this bridge to take a piss?

I love it here, it’s all fun and good,
but my homies be callin’ they need me in the hood.

I can’t wait to get back to the USA
I guess Canada wasn’t all bad – ‘eh’?

Thanks for the memories, we had a lot of fun
but now I’m sad, cause it’s all done

I’ll miss fishing, playing too,
but we snuck 50 fish back,
so the joke is on you!

My best fish was only this big
It made me so mad I’m going to snap to this twig

You have a contest, picture of the year
That idea might get old we fear

It’s all about the creativity
We’ll always be the winners, don’t you see?

“They want you to call in and just say ‘hey, we’re having a wonderful time,’ or just to let them know how you are.”

Kashabowie Outposts takes care of its guests–and is one of the reasons Ohio’s Nancy Mandernach and husband Ron plan to make it a yearly tradition.

“The owners are very responsible and caring people,” said Nancy. “They want to tell you how to fish, where to fish, and if you’re not having a good day, you can pick up the [radio] phone and say ‘Wait a minute, this is not like you said,’ and they’ll say, ‘Are you doing this?’ That’s important-they want you to have a good time.”

Safety is also of utmost importance to Kashabowie Outposts staff. “They’re very knowledgeable and they make sure you know the flight and fishing regulations.”

Guests are also oriented to their cabin, equipment, lake and its’ prime fishing spots.
Accommodations are “outstanding,” (she said indoor showers are a definite plus!) and equipment is always in good working order. “If you needed something, they’d certainly fly it over to you.”

The staff’s attention to detail and safety, combined with radio phone service, give these die-hard anglers a feeling of security, even while on a remote wilderness lake. “They always do a fly-over. If they don’t hear from you, they’ll come in and check on you.”

Great fishing and accommodations, beautiful scenery and the sense of being taken care of–for the Mandernachs they all add up to one thing.

“We leave planning our return.”

College buddies again …just like it was yesterday.

Maybe it was the all-nighter studying marathons; comparing notes over Kraft Dinner and microwaved coffee…or maybe it was the partying.

College or University marks the beginning of lifelong friendships, started through great fun and shared experiences.

Many former college buddies take the time to laugh and party together every year or two – adding new fishing stories to the typical ‘good old days’ reminiscence.

Do it today.

Make the switch from being longtime college buddies who continue stay in touch by phone or email — to fishing buddies! You could create a whole new tradition of Fly-in Fishing trips! Small groups of old College buddies make up a lot of Kashabowie Outposts regular guests. Groups that always know how to have a good time!

Couldn’t have done a better job

Unfortunately our Canada fishing trip is now over.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had. Your staff
couldn’t have done a better job in taking care of us. I was told from
one of your past and current customers that we would not be disapointed,
but I never expected to have our vehicle’s windows cleaned by you
when we left!

Our experience went very smoothly. Cabins were very clean and
orderly and
we caught plenty of fish.

Thank you all for a wonderful time and we plan to see you soon.
