Steve and Bill. I had just released my fish when I saw a huge Northern take a swipe at my Dad's walleye near the boat. I yelled at him to open the bail which he did, with a confused look on his face, since the walleye was about 12 inches long. Sure enough, the Pike grabbed the walleye sideways & ran off to deep water. We had a portable depth finder and the Northern sat in about 18-20' of water and started to eat the walleye (we guess). After about 20 minutes the fish started to move and the fight was on! We went all over the bay with this fish & got it to the surface twice, but on the third try near the boat the fish flipped his tail & snapped the line!! Big disappointment! The fish was a good 40 inches! What a fight!"
